Article Intended For

This article is intended for Penn State faculty, staff, and students who teach or manage courses or Prides in Canvas.

Introduction

According to the Penn State Canvas Archive Policy, Canvas courses will remain in long-term storage during years 4 and 5 of the 5-year retention period. Teachers or course admins can request copies of their course content or grades from long-term storage through the Penn State IT Service Desk. Follow the steps below to view a list of your courses in long-term storage and request a copy of your course content.

NOTE: The content that is archived includes course-level data, enrollments, grades, discussions, and quizzes. No external links or plugins will be retained. After 5 years, this content will be permanently removed. Be sure to export and back-up any data you will need after the 5 year timeframe using the 3-2-1 rule.
