Issue
Some lists have deans and other executives on the owner and editor list, or others, who do not wish to receive ListServ communications.
Environment
- ListServ
- Web Browser
Resolution
NOTE: This article is intended for List Owners. The "Quiet," modifier for a List makes it so that email addresses "below" it are silenced; they will not get official notifications from ListServ. For example, when you subscribe or un-subscribe email addresses. Or if there are sending errors. Quiet will silence ALL ListServ notifications for a given list.
- Go to Lists.psu.edu
- Log into List Moderation Interface.
- Click on List Configuration.
- Select which list you want to make the change to from the drop down menu.
- Click on Manual List Configuration.
- In the Owners= section - side note: there may be editors and/or moderators listed there. These may be "co-mingled" as needed. Meaning you may order your Access Controls however you desire.
- Find where you want to separate those who want to/need to receive notifications, and make a new space between them.
- Enter in the new space: "Quiet:," (Without quotation marks.)
- Click on Save at the bottom right.
