Issue
I am unable to view my course in canvas.
Environment
- Canvas
- LionPATH
Resolution
- Go to https://canvas.psu.edu/
- Click "Canvas Login" in the upper right corner.
- At the Sign In, enter your userid@psu.edu
- Click Next.
- Enter your password and click "Sign In".
- Authenticate with MFA(Multi-Factor Authentication).
- In the left menu, click "Courses" then "All Courses".
- You can see in the list which courses are published and unpublished.
If course is not published in Canvas
- Please allow 48 hours after registration in LionPATH and/or until the course start date (whichever is later) to have full access to your course in Canvas.
- If it is before the course's official start date, it is possible the course is not published. Many instructors do not publish their courses until the date it officially starts.

- If the course appears in LionPATH and you believe the course should already be active OR you are concerned about missing any content within that 48 hour period please contact your instructor directly.
If Course is Published and cannot access:
- The Instructor of the course may have restricted students from viewing this course before the start date, and/or after the end date. Please contact the instructor directly.
If Course is Published and not able to view some course content:
- The Instructor of the course may not have published some content. Please contact the instructor directly.
Looking for a previous course that is no longer showing on your Canvas page:
- The Course/Instructor may have archived or added an end date to an previous course. Please contact the instructor directly for further assistance.
