Article Intended For
All Penn State faculty and staff.
Introduction
This article provides instructions on how to hold a Zoom meeting in which you share your screen. This prevents unauthorized people from sharing their screens. These instructions also apply for normal meetings in which both audio and video are used as well as screen sharing.
For more information about Zoom security, see the article Zoom: Prevent and Manage Meeting Disruptions.
Step-by-Step Instructions
To prevent unauthorized people from sharing their screen, you must configure these settings before the meeting begins:
- Go to your Zoom settings.
- Select the Meeting tab.
- Scroll down to the Screen sharing section.
- Under How many paticipants can share at the same time?, select One participant can share at a time.
- Under Who can share?, select Host Only.
- Click the Save button.
Figure 1: Under Who can share? select Host Only, and then Save.
Now, the host is the only person who can share their screen or content during meetings.
NOTE: Another option is to select the option All Participants under Who can share? Then select the Host Only option under Who can start sharing when someone else is sharing to prevent anyone from sharing until the Host approves.
