Introduction

The PE_RP_ECIS_BY_COURSE_BLDG LionPATH query is a class list search by Campus and Building and then Room, Class, Location and/or Day. This query is very similar to PE_RP_ECIS_BY_COURSE_BLDG_IDS, but student information is provided only after clicking into the class query result(s).

 

Descriptions for each prompt are

  • Institution: Do not change. This prompt should always read PSU55.
  • Campus: Two letter Campus abbreviation (ex: UP for University Park, AL for Altoona). This prompt is required.
  • Building: Building code (number and/or letter code, not plain description). It is recommended users click on the magnifying glass to select the accurate Building code if it is unknown. This prompt is required.
  • Room (Optional): Rooms located within the selected Building and with classes scheduled for the current term will display. Rooms will only display once the Building is selected.
  • Location (Optional): Detailed Location, which includes off-campus locations.
  • Class Nbr (Optional): Class Number. Campus and Building must still be to search by Class Nbr.
  • Sun – Sat (Optional) Yes: Checking box will filter results on selected day(s). Campus and Building must be entered to search by the day.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Additional instructions for the PE_RP_ECIS_BY_COURSE_BLDG - Search for Crse Bldg and Day query

  • Users must fill out Campus, Building and Room (optional) search criteria in that order.
    • For example: First select the Campus, then Buildings on that campus will be available for selection. Then after selecting Building, Rooms with classes scheduled for the current term will display.
  • Filter selections and query results will only display information for classes scheduled for the current term.
    • For example: Searches by Building can only be conducted for buildings where current term scheduled classes are taking place. Searches by Room can only be conducted for rooms where current term scheduled classes are taking place.

Search example

In the following example, a search for active classes in Abington’s Sutherland Building was conducted.

Note: If multiple classes are scheduled, additional filter criteria can be applied to shorten the results listing.

  1. Leave PSU55 in the Institution prompt.
  2. Enter AB (Abington's campus abbreviation) in the Campus prompt. Or, click the magnifying glass to display a complete list and then click the AB campus abbreviation link to insert it into the query prompt.

  1. Enter 0979001 (Sutherland Building's code) in the Building prompt.  Or, click the magnifying glass to display a list of buildings with scheduled classes for the current term and then click the Sutherland Bldg link to insert it into the query prompt.

  1. Click View Results.

The results display active classes scheduled in the Sutherland Building for the current term. Additional search criteria can be added to further define the results.

  1. To view the class list, click on the Class Nbr.

  1. The PE_RP_ECIS_BY_COURSE_BLDG_URL results will display students scheduled into the selected class.

  1. To view the student’s emergency contact information, click on the PSU ID.

  1. The PE_RP_ECIS_CONTACT_INFO results will display for the selected student.

Note: Missing persons contact information will only display if it was provided by the student. Otherwise, the data will be absent (as in the example below).
