Article Body

IAF Data Entry - Attachments Tab

Attachments to the IAF can be managed or viewed from the attachments tab depending on the user and their permissions. The attachments tab also enables users with the ability to upload documentation, to do so while the IAF is in workflow.

NOTE: Documents that are uploaded/added through the IAF, are automatically directed to the PROPOSAL folder in Document Manager with the exception of the Safety Plan Documentation.  The Safety Plan documentation is automatically directed to the Sign-Off/Waiver Request folder in Document Manager.

The Attachments tab

Full Proposal Upload - The full proposal file is only attached on the Attachments tab.  This file is required for Proposal IAF's and Award IAF's, but may not be required for AIAF (where no proposal exists).

Safety Plan Documentation - The Safety Plan Documentation is only displayed and required prior to submission to CPO for Proposal IAFs and Award IAFs when the sponsor or prime sponsor is National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Principal Investigator has answered "YES" to the Off-site Research question on the Investigator's tab.  System will alert users if a safety plan is required and has not been uploaded at the time of "submit to OSP" or "submit to ORA" if one has not yet been uploaded.

If multiple Safety Plans have been uploaded using Document Manager by Central Processing Offices (CPO) to the Sign-Off Waiver Request folder, the IAF Attachment tab will show the most recent uploaded file in the folder.  Help text is provided by hovering over the question mark icon.

  • Help text:  The Principal Investigator has answered "Yes" to the "Off-Site/Off-Campus Research question."   A document upload containing the appropriate Safety Plan will be required prior to submission to CPO.  For more information, please visit the Office of Sponsored Programs website.

After clicking "Add" to the right of the Safety Plan Documentation field, a new modal window appears.

User's will select a "Safety Plan Type" using the dropdown for the options.

  1. DRAFT
  2. OEOA Approved
  3. Submitted to NSF

Add Other Proposal Document

In addition, supplemental files, that are not requested on other tabs on the IAF may be added here, provided they are not award documents.  Award documents should be emailed to osp@psu.edu for processing.

The types of additional documentation that may be added include the following:

 The File Upload Panel.
