ARTICLE INTENDED FOR:

Faculty and Staff

INTRODUCTION:

How to forward calls received on your campus extension to another phone number (for those with Cisco VoIP Administrative Lines)

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:

On your phone:

  1. Press the [Forward all] soft key below your phone's screen. (You'll hear two beeps.)
  2. Dial the extension or external number to which you want your calls forwarded (just as you would normally dial it from your phone, including the '8' in front of an external number; you'll hear a beep and see a confirmation message on your display). (Note that you can also press a preprogrammed speed dial button in place dialing the number).

To turn it back off:

  1. Press the [Forward off] soft key below your phone's screen. (You'll hear a beep.)

Working Remotely - From the portal:

  1. If not on a University network, you will need to log into the VPN.
  2. Go to https://my.voip.psu.edu. (You'll be prompted to log in with your Penn State AccessID and Password.)
  3. Click on Your Phone Settings.
  4. Click on Call Forwarding.
  5. Check the box below your phone extension.
  6. Select from the pull-down or Type the extension or 10-digit external number ex. 818148654321 (Phone number must be in 10 digit dial format)
  7. Click on [Save].

To turn it back off:

  1. Perform steps 1-3 immediately above.
  2. Uncheck the box below your phone extension.
  3. Click on [Save].

Note that you can pair either method for turning forwarding on with either method for turning it back off.
