SIMBA Edit Home Page
Warnings, Notices and Caveats
- SIMBA recommends you only make changes to groups you create or your My Home group. Do not make changes to existing tiles or groups, otherwise:
- Troubleshooting may become more challenging; SIMBA Support may ask you to reset your changes to those existing groups in order to effectively provide support. Also keep in mind that SIMBA Support cannot reset your groups for you, only you can perform that action.
- If you make changes to an existing Fiori group or tile and SIMBA Support releases a new tile or changes an existing tile, you will need to ‘Reset’ that group to pick up the new tile or changes.
- NOTE: the SIMBA team *cannot* reset your groups.
Editing the Home Page
- Click on the Person icon.
- Click on Edit Home Page.
- The “My Home” group is the recommended group to which you should add tiles. You can do so by dragging and dropping your favorite tiles to the group.
- Example: The ‘FM Budget vs Actual Summary Report’ tile was dragged from the ‘FM Master Data Display and Reporting’ group to the ‘My Home’ group.
NOTE: We DO NOT recommend Selecting the Plus (+) sign and adding tiles via searching the catalogs. The catalogs will display many tiles, even ones to which you do not have access. Using a tile for which you do not have access to will result in an authorization error; this is a result of an incorrect tile and not incorrect roles.
- Dragging and dropping tiles Moves the tile. To keep the existing groups in their original state, SIMBA recommends you ‘Reset’ the group from which you moved the tile.
- You can also rearrange your groups and even create new groups into which you can drag and drop tiles.
- You can complete a few other actions on tiles, SIMBA strongly suggests you only do these with tile in groups you create or your My Home group:
- Delete and rename tiles
- Add subtitles and description to tiles
NOTE: Deleting, renaming, adding subtitles, or adding descriptions to tiles in existing groups CAN cause an increase in time to resolve Fiori issues. Resetting the group will cause all your changes to the tiles within that group to revert to their original state. SIMBA will ask you to reset your original groups to help with troubleshooting or to get group updates.
- After you have made your edits, click the Close button or the person icon and select Exit Edit Mode.
