The GlobalProtect VPN support guidelines below will assist with the selection of the appropriate GlobalProtect VPN Agent version. Penn State IT will test each release of the Agent software to verify compatibility with operating systems and to assess the impact of known bugs.

Who Should Download/Install GlobalProtect Agent Software
- Penn State IT professionals
- Penn State University users who have been previously provisioned by IT Support Staff AND who have permission to download their own software.
How to Download the Proper GlobalProtect Agent
- Verify that your computer has been provisioned to accept the GlobalProtect download. If you are uncertain, contact your local IT support staff.
- Verify that your local IT support staff has NOT already installed the proper agent version.
- Find your computer's operating system and its associated PSU Preferred GlobalProtect Agent Version.
- Click the Agent Version number to download.
Recommendation Rating Categories
- PSU Preferred - This is the preferred agent version based on the highest compatibility of configured features, fewest known bugs, and security advisories. These are the only versions that will be supported by Penn State IT.
- Not Recommended - Some features are not supported by this version of the agent and the performance will be impacted.
- Not Permitted - This version of the agent may be blocked or restricted from accessing PSU resources while connected to the VPN system.
- Under Review - This is likely a new release of the software that has not been fully tested or not enough user validation has confirmed all required functions. The status of this version may change.
- No Release - This Agent Version software is not available.
