Introduction
Using LionPATH to import grades from Canvas is a multi-step process that requires your Canvas Gradebook to be complete and accurate. You must first complete the prerequisites by preparing your grades in Canvas, then verify the accuracy of your grades using a .csv export file. Once your grades are prepared and accurate in Canvas, you have two methods for entering our final grades into LionPATH from your Canvas Gradebook.
Use the steps below to ensure your student’s final grades are accurate before submitting to LionPATH.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Complete Prerequisites in Canvas
- Set a Penn State Compatible Grading Scheme
- Enter Zero for All Unsubmitted Assignments
- Post Grades for Hidden Assignments
Step 2: Verify Accuracy of Your Grades
- Export your Canvas Gradebook and verify that your Current Grades and Final Grades match
NOTE: If you enabled Grade Override in your course, any grade in the "Override Grade" column in the exported file will be uploaded to LionPATH. If enabled and there is no grade in the "Override Grade" column, grades will be pulled from the "Unposted Final Grade" column.
