Introduction

This article describes how to download, install, set up, and get help with MyE911 software on your device.

 

Step-by-Step Instructions

Device Requirements

To use the MyE911 application:

  • You must have an active Penn State telephone number issued through the University’s VoIP telephone system.
  • Your telephone number is set up with Jabber capability, you have current Jabber software installed, and your PSU ID is set up for outgoing calls on your device.
  • Your Penn State ID must be set up in the RedSky Horizon Mobility Portal by Penn State Infrastructure Voice Services.
  • Your device must be running Microsoft Windows 7.1 SP1 or Higher.

Download and Install the MyE911 Installation File

  1. Download the Installation File.
  2. Click on the installation file in the bottom left corner of your browser or Open it from your downloads folder.



  3. Click Next.

  4. In the Advanced Settings window, Copy and Paste the URL (https://anywhere.e911cloud.com) into the “Redsky Cirrus Cloud Host” field and click Save.

  5. Specify a specific destination folder (optional) and click Next.

Register the Application

  1. Enter your Penn State Email (formatted abc123@psu.edu) and click Send.
    Note: If you do not receive the "Device Registration" pop-up window below, Open MyE911 from Programs.

  1. You will receive an email with a verification code. (This email may arrive in your Spam folder). Open the email and copy the code.
  2. Enter the code in the Device Registration Window and click Verify.

    You will receive a quick pop-up stating verification.

Setup Location Information on the MyE911 Portal

Note: If you have a Penn State University campus address that does not include a street and you receive the following message: The address provided is not properly formatted,” see the section below titled Alternate Location Setup for University Addresses.

  1. Locate the MyE911 Icon in the System Tray on the taskbar. Right-click and choose Open.
  2. Once the webpage opens click the Add Location and Set as Current Button.

  3. Fill out the Add Location window and Click the Add and Set as Current Location.



Confirm Your Location Using Cisco Jabber on Your PC, Laptop, or Tablet

  1. Open Jabber and dial 9-3-3.
  • The 933 Validation Center will confirm your phone number and location.
  • If the location confirmed by the 933 Validation Center does not match your current location, submit a ticket through the Penn State IT Help Desk for assistance.

Alternate Location Setup for University Addresses

This section is only applicable if you received “The address provided is not properly formatted” message when adding your location.

  1. Click “Alternate Address view” located beneath the Address field
  2. The “Location Name” should autofill the information previously entered.
  3. “House Number” is either your house or office number.
  4. “Street Name” is either the street name or building name if you are not at home.
  5. Type your location’s City, State, and Zip.
  6. Click the blue button “Add and Set as Current Location” to save the location.

 

MyE911 Application Options

You can perform the below actions from the system tray on the taskbar by Right Clicking the MyE911 Application:

  • Open: This opens the MyE911 portal where you can perform the below from the Menu Selector in the top left of the screen
  • My Location: Validate that MyE911 correctly detected your current location
  • Manage Locations: View and manage your saved locations
  • User Details: View & update your information
  • Help: Review the user guide documentation
  • Snooze: Snooze location input prompts for up to 24 hours
  • Settings: Edit the setting input911
  • About: MyE911 application Information
  • Exit: If you exit MyE911, your location will no longer be sent to an emergency response center upon dialing 9-1-1
