Penn State offers multiple networks for students, faculty, staff, and visitors to connect to. This article describe each use case.

Resolution
- The PSU network should be used for all 802.11x devices, these include mobile phones, tablets, and laptops.
- PSU Guest is an unauthenticated network that is free for Penn State guests to use wherever it is available.
- Roomgear is a network within residence halls that allows you to connect gaming consoles (Xbox, PS4, Switch, etc.), streaming devices (Roku, Amazon Fire Stick as long as it uses a remote to control it, etc.), smart TVs, smart speakers like Amazon Echo as long as you can find the wireless MAC address in order to register it and you don't use your phone to try and control it. They will work if you speak to them but you cannot control them with your phone.
- Eduroam is a global wireless network service for research and education. Participating institutions offer visiting students, faculty, and staff secure wireless access through the use of their home institution credentials. Scholars visiting Penn State may connect through Eduroam but must first be set-up by their home institution.
