Article Intended For

SIMBA users

Introduction

After logging in to SIMBA, your Fiori launchpad opens. The launchpad is SIMBA’s Home page, displaying application tiles that correspond to the duties of your assigned roles. Your Financial Officer (FO) assigns roles to determine what you can see and do in SIMBA.

You can tailor your launchpad Home page in the following ways to suit your needs and preferences.

  • Create a My Home tile group to organize your favorite tiles.
  • Create a custom (user created) tile group to organize tiles to suit your workflow or particular job tasks.
  • Customize settings such as background color, tile display (show all tiles or sort tiles by group), and activity tracking.

Important note about editing:

SIMBA administration strongly discourages users from modifying default tiles and default tile groups. If you want to edit a default tile or group (for example, change a tile name or reorder tiles within a group), the SIMBA team suggests you add the default tile to the My Home tile group or a custom (user created) tile group. You can then edit the custom tile group or edit the tile in the custom tile group.

If you do modify a default tile or tile group, that tile group will not automatically reflect updates or new tiles that may be released to the group by SIMBA administration. You must reset the tile group to its original state in order to reflect updates from SIMBA administration. The SIMBA administration team cannot reset your tile groups for you; you can follow the Resetting a Tile Group procedure to reset a group yourself.

Please note that changing anything within a default tile group means that it will not automatically reflect system updates, even if you make another change so the group appears as it did in its default state. For example, if you move a default tile to a different location within its tile group and then immediately move it back to its original location, that is registered as a change to the default state.
