Issue

I can't get on the internet after enabling GlobalProtect.

Environment

  • Windows
  • Mac
  • GlobalProtect

Resolution

Some users have experienced connection issues after switching to the GlobalProtect VPN. Please check the following to ensure you are meeting all requirements.

  1. The computer Operating System needs to be up to date.
  2. GlobalProtect requires the use of an anti-virus program to be installed on the computer where it is running
  3. Virus Definitions must be up-to-date and have active monitoring enabled.
  4. To acquire a compatible anti-virus program, visit: Anti-Virus Software and select an option from the list under the ‘Students’ section
    1. Currently, for Mac the only free option with "active monitoring" is Avast
  5. You must be disconnected from all other VPNs, including Cisco AnyConnect VPN and/or Barracuda VPN
  6. Please make sure the Barracuda VPN is uninstalled. Even if you disconnect from it, you still won't be able to connect to the GlobalProtect VPN, without removing it first.
