Introduction

How to complete an 'Add Person' request form in SIMSbudgets.

Article Body

  1. Enter the name or userid of the person in the Category I line item 
    Category I short description field.
  2. If the Person does not appear in the Person Lookup, click on the Request Addition button
    Person Lookup with Request Addition and Close buttons.
  3. The Person Request form will display 

       Unfilled Person Request form with access ID lookup and required fields highlighted.

  1. Validate PSU Access Account ID by selecting "red" lookup icon

  2. When PSU Access Account ID is validated, the lookup icon will appear "green"

  3. If the user has a SIMS profile, the profile information will import into the form. The message will show: "A record for [userID] already exists (Click here to show current information). If you cannot access this record, or wish to update some information, you may Submit Update Request."

  4. If you are changing the Department Affiliation, the affiliation must be validated
    Lookup for Department Affiliation in the Person Request form.
  5. Once all required fields are completed the Submit button is enabled.
  6. You will receive a message at the bottom of the form and an email confirming the request will be sent from simslists@psu.edu.
    An Update request for [userID]: [user name] was sent successfully.
  7. You will receive an email confirmation (sample below) once the requested change is completed.

 

If person userid is not found in Penn State Directory, you may request an Access Account ID for a new hire who has not yet arrived at:  http://www.identity.psu.edu/services/authentication-services/access-account
