How do I connect to a Liberal Arts computer with Remote Desktop?

Resolution

Using Remote Desktop
  1. GlobalProtect must be installed and running.
  2. If remote access has never been requested, please fill-out this form
    1. Liberal Arts Remote Desktop Access Request
  3. Search your computer for Remote Desktop
    1. If you are using a personal Mac, you may need to go to the Apple Store and download Microsoft Remote Desktop
  4. For Windows users
    1. In the Computer field, type your computer name Example: L2ITLA-WT0000.ad.psu.edu
    2. Click "show options" button in the bottom left corner of the Remote Desktop Connection window
    3. Add your Penn State username into the username field Example: PSU\abc123
    4. Click “Connect”
  5. For Mac users
    1. Click on the + symbol and Add PC
    2. In the PC name field, type your computer name Example: L2ITLA-WT0000.ad.psu.edu
    3. Click on the “User Account” drop-down field and select “Add user account”
    4. Add your Penn State username into the username field Example: PSU\abc123
    5. Password field is optional. This is your Penn State password (WebAccess Password)
    6. Friendly name is optional as well but useful if you are connecting to multiple machines
    7. Click the “ Add” button
    8. Double click the computer you just created to open the connection
