Troubleshooting

Some users have experienced connection issues after switching to GlobalProtect. Please check the following to ensure you are meeting all requirements.

  • Make sure that the machine you are trying to connect to is powered on and has interest access
  • GlobalProtect requires the use of an anti-virus program to be installed on the computer used to connect to the PSU network
  • Virus Definitions must be up-to-date and have active monitoring enabled.
  • To acquire a compatible anti-virus program, visit: Anti-Virus Software and select an option from the list under the ‘Students’ section
    • Currently for Mac, the only free option with "active monitoring" is Avast
  • The computer Operating System needs to be up to date.
  • Cisco AnyConnect should not be used when connected with GlobalProtect
    • It will be decommissioned and can be uninstalled
